| Nice mix of shorts too with "Oculus" being the stand out. Glad it won. | |
| "Oculus" was fabulous, it just had me gripped to the seat. I agree with what you said, there is something about mirrors that is really spooky and it was good to have old-fashioned spook appeal in there, but with all the modern elements that kind of made it even more sinister (his mobile ringing, the cameras buzzing etc). | |
| The majority of the shorts blew me away but I was particularly impressed by "Oculus". It was an object lesson in how to do a movie on a very low budget and have the end product exude both originality and bone marrow deep chills. Great stuff and quite inspiring. | |
| "Oculus" looked absolutely beautiful and sucked you in straight away. I'd love to see the first two parts. There was a very Lovecraftian feel to it, especially as he relates the history of the mirror, and it managed to give it an incredibly creepy feel. | |
| Best short film, for me, was "Oculus". It was a superb piece of cinema - a highly impressive piece of work that reminded me of the best of Quatermass - I'd love to see the other parts! | |
| "Oculus" was a great demonstration of what you can do with very little, as long as you have an intelligent writer coupled with an intelligent actor. |
